Sacred Fire & Pipe Ceremony

  • Wintergreen Studios 90 Wintergreen Lane (formerly 9780 Canoe Lake Rd) Township of S. Frontenac (map)

Bear Paw Pipestone

Join Métis Knowledge Keeper Lorrie Potvin for a Sacred Fire and Pipe Ceremony. We will begin with a smudge, followed by songs and opening prayers. Lorrie will share teachings of the sacred fire, share the pipe creation story, and talk about how the meanings of stone and stem depend on each nation’s traditions. Then, pipes will be loaded and prayers shared. The ceremony will end with a sharing circle and closing prayer.

WHO CAN COME?

This community event is open to all. Everyone is welcome. Come with good intentions and an open heart and mind.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Please bring a water bottle. And, if you would rather not sit on the ground, bring a blanket or small chair. If you have drums, rattles or sacred bundles, bring those as well.
